June Update

Hey there! I’ve just popped in to catch you up on how my month has gone.  I was unwell for part of it, but the part I was there for was so busy with lots happening!  Firstly, we have been following the Fifa World Cup.  Every day we get an update on how the teams are going and what stage of the tournament we are up to.  We’ve all been given a team to represent, and I am Kapo Verde!

We also had a Masquerade Ball.  We spent a few weeks before hand making sparkly decorations like stars and masks and decorating the hall.  On the day we all got dressed up and had a ball (pardon the pun) dancing along to great music in our best clothes.

At the end of the month we had the Brass Band visit!  The music they played was loud and I could feel the vibrations! We all really enjoyed watching and listening to them.

I’ve been helping out doing my jobs still too.  On Van cleaning day I get to vacuum the inside of the van with the hand held vacuum! I love watching the dust get sucked up.  Every day I put my rubbish in the bin, put the dirty laundry in the hamper and even put the washing in the washing machine!  I help in the garden too.  I love getting the hose and watering the garden then sweeping the paths.  It feels good to be helpful.

In music we’ve been listening to country music and even had a disco one day!  The lights were off and we had all these cool lights playing over the ceiling while we listened to great music.

In the Girls group and massage group I have enjoyed relaxing in the massage chair and using the massage gun.  I even had my toenails painted! They looked so pretty afterwards.  I also loved having a foot spa.  I loved watching the bubbles and having a foot massage afterwards.

In sports we’ve had fun times playing badminton.  I’ve been practicing hitting the ball, so we’ve had lots of fun games.

I’ve been to the library a few times.  I relaxed with storytime and put puzzles together.  I’m getting so good at it!

All in all, it’s been a great month and I’m looking forward to the next one.

My Month of May

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to tell you about my month of may!

I’ve kept up with my jobs, both at Palmers and at the Centre.  At Palmers I’ve been helping out by sweeping and tidying.  At the centre I have been putting out my daily rubbish, putting the laundry in the hamper and putting the laundry on to wash.  I feel so good when I’m being helpful.

I’ve enjoyed plenty of pamper and relaxation time too.  I’ve had foot spa’s using a bath bomb I helped make, plus hand massages. In another session we told each other positive things we liked about each other.  It felt so good to pay compliments and find out the good things others think of me.

We had an outing to the Wilrose Centre and joined in their Waiata session.  A few days later we took a bouquet of flowers there as a thankyou for letting us participate.

All in all, it's been a great month and I'm really looking forward to the next month.

Acts of kindness

Today for acts of kindness we went to Wilrose centre to give Shaimma a bunch of flowers for being so welcoming to us at their Waiata session, and for being so good on the microphone.
